When submitting a Machine idea you may be as short or as elaborate as you like in your descriptions, just let your ideas flow. Generally the more the better as it's easier to crop ideas down rather than blow them up.
RESISTANCE DESIGNATION(S): Here is where you will include any nicknames that the humans have for the machine. These are not SKYNET designations. Terms like "Creeper", "Stickman", etc. are used here. SKYNET does not nickname its creations.
SERIES: (Please refer to here for this information and try to follow it if possible. New Series / Type / Model designations are welcome but subject to editing to fit the context of this site)
TYPE:
MODEL:
PRIMARY DUTY PURPOSE: The primary function of the machine such as "capturing humans" or "repairing machines in the field". Multiple functions are allowed.
SECONDARY DUTY PURPOSE: Any secondary functions of the machine can be included here, if necessary. Multiple functions are allowed.
PRODUCTION RUN: The total number of machines that SKYNET produced during its production years (see next)
PRODUCTION YEARS: The years that the Machine was produced and put into use by SKYNET
PRODUCTION LOCATION: The areas / locations that the Machines were produced. For example; Manufactory 12, Northwest Sector, Area 5, Block 12
LOCATION(S) DEPLOYED:
The primary locations that the Machines were deployed.
You can be as vague or detailed as you like here, specific areas
(such as urban sewers and basements) or broad (mountainous regions)
POWER
SOURCE:
Most Machines use compact nuclear power cells.
Exotic power plants would be pretty much out of the question but batteries or
solar powered Machines (small) are possible. Describe and list
the number of and type of power supply systems here.
BACKUP
POWER:
As above but the backup systems used to supply power and
energy to the Machine should the primary system be damaged or
destroyed. The T800 displayed this feature several times in the
movies.
ENDURANCE: How long the Machine can operate between recharging / resupply / refueling
PERFORMANCE: Speed. Lifting capacity. Altitude. Etc. What the Machine is capable of doing and its limits.
CHASSIS:
The body of the Machine. The T800 used a "hyperalloy
armored microprocessor controlled combat chasis." Give me your ideas here
and I'll run with it if you can't.
SUSPENSION: Any notes on the suspension.
LOCOMOTION:
The primary propulsion / movement systems of the Machine;
legs, treads, jets, etc. Make sure this matches the Type / Model / Series
info above.
SENSORS:
Describe the primary sensors of the Machine. How
many senses does it have (touch, taste, see, hear, smell)? Are these below
or
above human norms? Telescopic? Microscopic?
Infra-red? Ultra-violet? Motion tracking?
Radar? Sonar?
BACKUP:
The backup sensors available to the Machine. They
generally won't be as effective or as powerful as the primary sensors ... or
they
could be direct replacements in case of damage or destruction.
PRIMARY
CPU:
Be creative. Discuss how the "brains" of the Machine
are designed. Be as specific or as broad as you wish. Look at my
Machines for
examples if you need to.
SECONDARY CPU:
The auxiliary brains. Again, probably not as
powerful or efficient as the primary CPU or it could be a direct replacement.
Not all
Machines may have a secondary CPU. Or it could be a highly
specialized processor designed for one of its duty roles.
BACKUP CPU: Emergency backup brains for the Machine, if any. Could also be a specialized subprocessor designed for the duty role(s).
PRIMARY
ARMAMENT:
List any primary weapons that the Machine is equipped
with. Some Machines, like the Endos, may or may not have built-in weapons
and will simply be issued weapons or be able to pick up weapons and
carry them. Other Machines, like the Aerial and the Tracked HK
will have built in weapons which cannot be removed short of major
service depots. If the Machine uses weapons which are limited in
ammunition (grenade launchers, machine guns, flame throwers (fuel),
bomb racks, etc.) then list the amount of munitions that the
Machine can carry before it has to be reloaded and mention how it can
be reloaded (in the field, at a service depot, etc.)
SECONDARY ARMAMENT: List any backup or non-primary weapons here following the above guidelines.
DEFENSIVE:
List any and all types of armor, their capacity, their
thickness, their makeup, etc. For example - "a 3mm Hyperalloy sheathe
floating on
a magnetically stabilized gelatin layered over a 2mm plasticeramic case
bonded form" You can be as specific or vague as you like, I
can fill in the details if I need to. Also include any defensive
systems that the Machine may have. Aerial units may have radar /
laser
jammers (and later just "sensor" jammers), flare or chaff dispensers,
etc. Tracked units may have reactive armor or smoke dispensers,
etc.
OTHER:
List any other offensive systems here, exotic, mundane,
etc. if they are included in the design of the Machine. Also, such stuff
as
strobes, white spot lights, winches, repair systems, or other carried
equipment should be listed here.
BACKGROUND / HISTORY / NOTES: Here's where you
tell me WHY this Machine was created, what it does and how it does it. You
also tell me what SKYNET and
the Resistance think of this Machine, was it a success? Was it a
failure? If so, why? Did it have any weaknesses? What
was
it like when it existed? Tell me a story and make it a good one.
