REENTRY / EMERGENCY LANDING ______________________________________
"Cassiopeia" on final approach, belly down, ready to make atmospheric reentry.
Air friction starts to heat the belly of the spacecraft.
Engulfed in an envelope of dense air
superheated by the friction generated by the spacecraft's
hypersonic velocities, the "Cassiopeia" falls past us and farther into the
Earth's atmosphere.
Here we see some of the engine detail as the spacecraft continues falling.
